Shortly after Season 9 of So You Think You Can Dance’s finale, all-stars Allison Holker and tWitch Boss, along with Allison’s daughter, Weslie, vacationed at Villa del Palmar Cancun. They celebrated tWitch’s 30th birthday at the resort.
Talk Show Host and So You Think You Can Dance fan Ellen DeGeneres celebrated her birthday last week, and Late Night Host Jimmy Kimmel surprised her with a performance from seven So You Think You Can Dance alumni! Season 8’s Top 2 Melanie Moore and Sasha Mallory, Season 7’s Alex Wong, All-Stars and Season 4 finalists tWitch Boss and Comfort Fedoke, and All-Stars and Season 2 finalists Allison Holker and Ivan Koumaev sprung from seats in The Ellen Show audience to surprise her with a performance to LMFAO’s “Sexy And I Know It.”
So You Think You Can Dancers Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, Allison Holker, Dmitry Chaplin, Chelsie Hightower, and choreographer Louis Van Amstel will perform at Casa Dorada Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on New Year’s Eve. Judge Mary Murphy will host the New Year’s Eve show. Casa Dorada’s GM Enrique Turcott offers, “We’re excited to announce that even more talented performers will be coming to Los Cabos for New Year’s! tWitch’s signature hip hop style and Allison’s contemporary grace will be a great compliment to the fantastic ballroom dancers already announced. Our guests are going to be blown away by all the talent on display!”
Season 4 runner-up and Season 7 all-star Stephen “tWitch” Boss guest stars on FOX’s Bones this week. tWitch plays a street dancer named Russell who becomes a murder suspect that Brennan and Booth must investigate. In the video clip below, tWitch says that he plays the “arrogant” version of himself as a battle dancer, but that So You Think You Can Dance fans will see a different side of him. The episode is named “The Man With No Bones” after the fluidity with which tWitch dances.
Stephen “tWitch” Boss first entered the public eye as a So You Think You Can Dance Season 3 hopeful who was cut right before the Top 20 was formed. Determined as ever, tWitch came back and auditioned for Season 4. He not only made the Top 20, he ended up in second place, and helped earn choreographer Mia Michaels an Emmy nomination for the memorable “Mercy” routine. You can now find the Season 7 All-Star in a number of movies including Stomp The Yard: Homecoming, which is now available on Blu-ray™ and DVD.
Day two of The Ellen DeGeneres Show’s premiere week kicked off with So You Think You Can Dance. Ellen showed behind-the-seasons footage of her memorable finale performance with All-Star tWitch Boss to “Outta Your Mind.” Next, she invited the touring Top 7 and tWitch to perform on her talk show. Watch them dance!
The seventh season of So You Think You Can Dance came to a spectacular conclusion last night as Lauren Froderman, 18, a Contemporary Jazz dancer from Phoenix, AZ, was named America’s Favorite Dancer and danced off with the cash prize of $250,000. She will be featured on the cover of Dance Spirit magazine, and will be the first-ever dancer featured as an athlete in Gatorade print ads in select publications and online at www.gatorade.com.
