The next wave of nominees has been announced for TEEN CHOICE 2011, airing live Sunday, Aug. 7 at 8/7c on FOX. So You Think You Can Dance has received a second nomination, this time for Choice Summer TV Show. Earlier this summer, it was revealed that SYTYCD is up for the Choice TV: Reality Competition award.
Last night, the Top 8 performed with a new group of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE All-Stars. Tonight, host Cat Deeley announced that the four finalists who received the fewest of America’s votes were Jordan Casanova, Tadd Gadduang, Caitlynn Lawson and Jess LeProtto. Then, judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy, as well as guest judge Rob Marshall, revealed that Casanova and LeProtto would be going home. Also on tonight’s show, dance troupe LXD took the stage and pop music icon Lady Gaga performed two of her latest hits, “Edge of Glory” and “You and I.”
The competition continues next week when the Top 6 finalists – Tadd Gadduang, Marko Germar, Ricky Jaime, Caitlynn Lawson, Sasha Mallory and Melanie Moore – compete on a two-hour, live performance show airing Wednesday, Aug. 3 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.

Then, judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and guest judge Neil Patrick Harris revealed that Ordaz and Kelly would be going home.
So You Think You Can Dance could be headed to a town near you. Don’t miss your chance to see your favorite dancers perform the most memorable Season 8 routines live!
Fall’s hottest ticket will not only feature this season’s most popular routines but also original pieces created specifically for the nationwide tour. The Season 8 dancers going on tour are Caitlynn Lawson, Clarice Ordaz, Jess LeProtto, Jordan Casanova, Marko Germar, Melanie Moore, Mitchell Kelly, Ricky Jaime, Sasha Mallory and Tadd Gadduang.
The 32-city tour will kick-off Saturday, September 17 in Orlando, FL and conclude on Wednesday, November 2 in San Diego, CA with tickets for all shows going on sale Friday, July 29 at 10AM ET.
“We are thrilled with the season’s spectacular, raw talent we discovered. Watching these dancers each week truly inspires me and it is my distinct pleasure to share them with the nation,” stated Nigel Lythgoe.

The three couples who received the fewest votes tonight were: Caitlynn Lawson and Mitchell Kelly; Ryan Ramirez and Ricky Jaime; and Sasha Mallory and Alexander Fost. Judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy, along with guest judges Sonya Tayeh and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, asked the six finalists to perform solo routines and then eliminated Ramirez and Fost.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE scored 8 Emmy Nominations, including a nod for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program as well as one for our own Cat Deeley for Outstanding Host (her first!!).

TEEN CHOICE 2011 will celebrate the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion in the choicest, star-studded two-hour event airing live Sunday, Aug. 7 at 8/7c on FOX.
So You Think You Can Dance is nominated for Choice TV: Reality Competition, and it’s now up to teens to vote for the show!
