Tap dancer Melinda Sullivan was eliminated during the Top 9 live results show. We caught up with the 22-year-old soon after her elimination to learn more about her tap background and plans for the future.
Finalist Melinda Sullivan, 22, a Tap dancer from Thousand Oaks, CA, was eliminated on Thursday’s So You Think You Can Dance. After America’s vote was revealed, Billy Bell, Robert Roldan, and Melinda Sullivan were the three dancers who received the fewest votes. Judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mia Michaels, and Adam Shankman asked the three finalists to perform a solo routine and then eliminated Melinda.
Salsa dancer Cristina Santana was eliminated from Season 7 in tenth place. Soon after leaving the competition, the San Diego resident talked about the audition process, her future, and dancing with Pasha.
After auditioning four times for So You Think You Can Dance, 26-year-old Alexie Agdeppa made the Top 11 of Season 7. Soon after her elimination, the Rowland Heights, CA native opened up about her time on SYTYCD and her plans moving forward.

National Dance Day is rapidly approaching, and So You Think You Can Dance’s Hip Hop choreographers, Napoleon and Tabitha D’umo, have created a short Dizzy Feet Foundation dance routine for the July 31st dance day. Nigel Lythgoe, via Twitter, encourages you to learn it and pass it on.
After the Top 11 dancers found out they were on Season 7 of So You Think You Can Dance, they moved to Los Angeles and took part in a press day of photos and interviews. We caught up with each dancer and they opened up about how they’re feeling, what they’re nervous about, and what they want the fans to know about them.
Tune in for the first results show of the season this Thursday at 9/8c on FOX. During the hour-long show we will be treated to the broadcast premiere of pop sensation Justin Bieber’s new music video, “Somebody To Love,” featuring Usher. Justin is very excited about the premier of the music video and announced via Twitter, “Wanna see the World Premiere of ‘SOMEBODY TO LOVE’ feat Usher??? Watch SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE on Thursday night….Spread the word!!!” Usher will also perform his hit song “OMG,” and there will be an exciting specialty dance performance from Karine Plantadit & Keith Roberts. At the end of the night, we’ll say goodbye to the first eliminated dancer of Season 7. You won’t want to miss out!
How do I vote?
Each contestant will be assigned a toll-free telephone number during the performance shows. To vote, simply watch “So You Think You Can Dance” on FOX each week (see local listings for details) and dial the telephone number of the contestant(s) for whom you wish to vote. Voting will open at the end of each performance show. DO NOT call before the end of the show as the lines will not be open. The results of the vote will be revealed in the results shows that will also air on FOX later the same week (see local listings for details). Rules and procedures are subject to change at producers’ discretion without notice.
After thousands of auditions featuring some of the best dancers ever to try out, the judges of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE announced that Season Seven will have 11 finalists instead of 10. The Top 11 finalists are Alexie Agdeppa, Billy Bell, Kent Boyd, Lauren Froderman, Ashley Galvan, Robert Roldan, Jose Ruiz, Cristina Santana, Melinda Sullivan, Adéchiké Torbert and Alex Wong.
