“SO YOU THINK CAN DANCE” Leaps Into a 10th Season!!

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE will be back for its 10th season!

Auditions for Season 10 will kick off Friday, Jan. 18 in Austin, TX at The Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts. The show will continue its search for America’s Favorite Dancers on Monday, Feb. 11 at Saint Andrew’s Hall in Detroit, MI; Thursday, Feb. 21 at the Boston Opera House in Boston, MA; Thursday, March 14 at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, TN; and Friday, March 22 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

Allison & tWitch’s Post-Finale Vacation

Shortly after Season 9 of So You Think You Can Dance’s finale, all-stars Allison Holker and tWitch Boss, along with Allison’s daughter, Weslie, vacationed at Villa del Palmar Cancun. They celebrated tWitch’s 30th birthday at the resort.

We Have Our Winners!

America's Favorite Dancers: Chehon & Eliana!

The ninth season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE came to a conclusion Tuesday night when Eliana Girard and Chehon Wespi-Tschopp were crowned the winners during the live two-hour season finale on FOX. Girard, 21, from West Palm Beach, FL, and Wespi-Tschopp, 23, from Zurich, Switzerland, received the most of America’s votes and danced off with the cash prize of $125,000 each. Fellow finalists Tiffany Maher and Cyrus Spencer were eliminated as host Cat Deeley revealed the voting results.

SYTYCD Lighting Team Wins an Emmy Award!

SYTYCD earns Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Lighting.

On Saturday, September 15, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awarded the 2011-2012 Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Awards for programs and individual achievements at the 64th Emmy Awards presentation at the NOKIA Theatre LA LIVE in Los Angeles. Congratulations to the So You Think You Can Dance lighting team for their second win in a row!

Canadian singer/songwriter and breakout pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen will perform her newest single, “This Kiss,” on the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE season finale Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 8/7c on FOX.

Voting Update

Voting didn't take place on 9/5, but it will resume on 9/11.

You may have noticed while watching Wednesday, September 5′s Top 6 performance show of So You Think You Can Dance that no voting numbers were given out. Voting did not happen because there will be no results next week. On Tuesday, September 11, your Top 4 dancers – Eliana Girard, Tiffany Maher, Cyrus Spencer, and Chehon Wespi-Tschopp – will dance for your votes one last time. Then, on September 18, America’s Favorite Dancers will be revealed in the Season 9 finale.

Top 6 Results and Top 4 Week

These 4 dancers made it to the Season 9 finale!

Last night, after America’s vote was revealed, Eliana Girard, Tiffany Maher, Cyrus Spencer, and Chehon Wespi-Tschopp were named the Top Four finalists on So You Think You Can Dance. Witney Carson and Cole Horibe received the fewest votes and were sent home, without the judges – Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, and guest judge Christina Applegate (“Up All Night”) – saving any of the contestants.

Top 8 Results and Top 6 Week

Lindsay Arnold and Will Thomas were eliminated during Top 8 Week.

Wednesday night, after America’s vote was revealed, Cole Horibe, Will Thomas, Lindsay Arnold, and Witney Carson were the two guys and two girls who received the fewest votes. After deliberating, the judges – Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, and guest judge Jesse Tyler Ferguson (“Modern Family”) – saved Cole Horibe and Witney Carson from elimination and sent Will Thomas and Lindsay Arnold home.
