LA Gallery Opening to Benefit Dizzy Feet Foundation

The San Marino Gallery announced details for the premiere of LA Art Experience, its  three-day exhibition of contemporary works that will be displayed at the historic Majestic Halls in the Bank of America building in Downtown Los Angeles (650 South Spring Street) October 14-16.  An opening night gala on Friday, October 14th, will feature live music, performances by dancers from So You Think You Can Dance with special appearances from the judges and choreographers, a full casino with exciting prizes, a live auction hosted by Nigel Lythgoe,  a sub zero Ice lounge and over 100 masterpieces by San Marino Gallery’s leading artists from around the world. Proceeds from the gala will benefit the Dizzy Feet Foundation.  Founded in 2009, the non-profit organization is dedicated to supporting dance education in the United States with an illustrious board that includes Nigel Lythgoe, Adam Shankman, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Katie Holmes.  With extraordinary dance performances, eclectic international cuisine and spirits and a star-studded red carpet, the gala premiere of LA Art Experience will be an elegant evening that will long be remembered.

San Marino Gallery founder Careen Friedland said, “The San Marino Gallery is thrilled to champion the art of dance in our support of the Dizzy Feet Foundation.  Their work is vital.  We created the LA Art Experience to celebrate the visual and performing arts in our diverse community, and it is my hope that families will come out to enjoy our presentations throughout the weekend.”

The San Marino Gallery represents masters of modern art, both new and established, in mediums from painting and sculpture to glass and photography. LA Art Experience will showcase installations of dynamic and influential artists, including American painter Anthony Waichulis’ incredibly detailed, life-like oil paintings of everyday objects; Belgian artist Georges Monfils’ original pop art created from unusual materials; and Hongnian Zhang’s internationally celebrated Chinese oil paintings.

During the weekend, LA art enthusiasts will recognize the Art Truck, the twenty-four foot mobile San Marino Gallery that houses artworks for public display.  Equipped with multi-media capabilities, the truck travels throughout Los Angeles a revolving exhibition of original works of art.  The Art Truck currently features Mr. Monfils’ well-known piece “King of Pop,” a portrait of Michael Jackson made entirely of the late star’s vinyl records.
