Nigel Lythgoe made the final All-Star announcement on Twitter:
Neil Haskell, a gymnast-turned-dancer, made it all the way to the finale and ended up as the 3rd place finalist on Season 3 of So You Think You Can Dance. For the first five weeks of the competition, Neil was in an unstoppable partnership with All-Star Lauren Gottlieb. One of their most memorable performances was a Wade Robson jazz piece to “Night of the Dancing Flame” (the angel vs. devil piece). Although Neil and Lauren made quite a pair, Neil also had memorable moments with many other dance finalists. When Neil and Season 3 champ Sabra Johnson teamed up to dance a Mandy Moore jazz piece to “Sweet Dreams” (better known as “The Table Dance”), they helped to earn Mandy an Outstanding Choreography Emmy nomination. Neil also tackled disco with Sara Von Gillern to “Knock on Wood” – who could forget that energy (or his polyester suit)?! Choreographer Mia Michaels chose Neil, along with Lacey Schwimmer, to dance a very touching and personal contemporary piece about dancing with her father in heaven. Mia brought out the best in Neil again when she choreographed a number for the finale that faced the top two guys – Neil and Danny Tidwell – against each other in a battle of the kings.
Since appearing on Season 3 of SYTYCD, Neil has made quite a career for himself in musical theater. In 2008, he starred in the Off-Broadway production of Altar Boyz as Luke. Then, he performed in the Broadway ensemble of 9 to 5. In addition, Neil has appeared on TV in “The American Mall” and “One Life to Live.”
How high do you think Neil will jump and how many flips will he master on Season 7? Tune in this spring and summer to find out!
That’s it, folks!
